Hi guys.. I’m still here. I’ve been absent from blogging for a while now and it feels like losing touch with an old friend. Over the last few months I’ve undergone a lot of changes in my personal and work life which resulted in neglecting my blog. As with anything when you ignore it for a while it is difficult to start up again, you lose sight of what you were aiming to achieve.

As we have just begun a new year I thought it apt to stop procrastinating and take advantage of this clean slate. In order to stay on track I need to set realistic goals and fit blogging around working full time. By setting myself daily and weekly goals instead of long term aims it will push me to be more consistent and create new content more frequently. Another aid I will take advantage of is notebooks – writing down my thoughts instead of trying to remember them off the top of my head will greatly help. I have a habit of coming up with loads of ideas at once and as soon as it comes to writing a new post I have entirely forgotten.. frustrating to say the least.

Motivation is something that comes and goes, it can change so swiftly simply by what mood you’re in or the time of day. There has been a significant lull in my motivation the last few months so I decided that I needed a big change to kick me into gear. This came in the form of a new theme for my blog, I decided upon one called Equinox by pipdig and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it has transformed the appearance and utility of my blog. It certainly has encouraged me to write and create again.

The next step as I briefly mentioned is to begin composing content and notes on a daily basis, this way I am spreading my work load over the week. By setting time aside to take photographs and make lists for myself to accomplish in the week I am making it much easier in the long run. So when it comes to my days off and I want to upload I already have most of the work done. It’s also in my favour that I find it extremely satisfying to tick something off my to-do list!

Saving the most important point for last is of course, consistency. Randomly uploading posts on any day of the week, at any time and leaving gaps of a couple days then a week was never the right way. My main goal is to stay consistent and choose a particular day and time to upload weekly. This undoubtably will make it simpler to stay on top of things for me and more straightforward for you guys too. Thank you for baring with me and I will endeavour to pursue my blogging goals.
