Long time no see, I’m back to blogging this week with a style post. For quite some time I had been feeling uninspired when it came to style, and too comfortable wearing the same old choices. In an attempt to break away from those feelings I stepped outside my comfort zone and got some smarter pieces, this blazer being the main one. Timeless. Structured. Iconic. The blazer is a classic staple that should appear in everyones wardrobe. Something about the sharp silhouette of a blazer makes a casual outfit appear more considered and put together. Although typically considered smart it can also be worn as part of a casual look, replace trousers with jeans for a dressed down style.
I wanted to experiment with my style and choose an outfit that blurred the line between masculine and feminine. Flowy and floral are not choices I usually consider so instead I experimented with a more masculine silhouette, topped off with of course a hat – my favourite accessory. Hats are for bad hair days and people with bad hair, I tend towards the latter option. I find that the right clothes inspire confidence, and at present hats are doing just that for me. Naturally your style changes and develops with age, whether you chop and change all the time or slowly add new things to your wardrobe. Experimentation and realising staples for yourself are great ways to build your personal style and find what works for you. However I can’t see my neutral colour palette changing anytime soon. Lastly I couldn’t not include my new favourite tote bag from Grind, it goes everywhere I go at the moment.
