PHOTO DIARY : STOCKHOLM

Recently I was lucky enough to win a competition with my company to travel to Stockholm for a couple of days – tak Diesel! It’s a city that I have been wanting to visit for years and I finally got the opportunity to go. We left very early Wednesday morning and landed around midday, as it was a business trip our first day was planned out for us. We stayed at The Story Hotel, a beautiful modern hotel right in the heart of the city and with a chic Asian restaurant just downstairs. First up we visited the Abba museum, which is a must really if you’re visiting Sweden. We later went onto Tak for our dinner reservation and it’s safe to say that everyone was blown away by how beautiful the restaurant and their rooftop bar was.  We had an incredible view of the city and even got to watch the sunset, which was at 10pm! The food was excellent and even catered for me by having vegan options which can sometimes be hard to come by. I highly recommend going here for drinks or dinner if you can get a reservation, it had a wonderful atmosphere and the most incredible view. The rest of our evening was spent drinking and socialising at K-Karaoke Bar,  I unfortunately have to confess that I drank far too much and was not 100% the next day. I still managed to explore the city for a few hours the next day and take some photos.

We didn’t have a schedule for our second day so we were able to explore the city until we had to leave for the airport around 2pm. Aside from the absolutely beautiful buildings and city in general I couldn’t help but notice how clean everything was – the streets, the buildings, even the public transport. It is honestly the cleanest city I have ever been to and with the most polite locals, so quite a change from London. An extremely photogenic and beautiful city with a mixture of old architecture and chic modern interiors. You can definitely tell why people love Scandi style so much, the street style is very minimal, effortless and put together.  I definitely plan to return soon and stay for a while longer to soak up the culture, explore more of the city and take lots of photographs! An amazing trip that I am very grateful to have gone on. Have any of you ever visited Stockholm or other cities in Sweden?
